Phoenix Mountaintop Anniversary | Dana + Justin

Some of my absolute favorite sessions are anniversary ones! Anniversaries that just invite me in and say just capture us as we are, where we are. These are some of the most authentic true to self sessions. I know prior to weddings , all of us go all out on our engagement photos as well as weddings and that is all fitting for the season and celebration of that time. Anniversary photos however offer such a slowed down simplistic memory of just where a couple is in that season. Simple outfits with simple locations. I LOVE THAT.

Dana and Justin wanted just that. This located was minutes away from their house in North Phoenix. I ended up just meeting them at their house, then carpooling down the street just catching up on life. We ended up walking around chasing the sun going down, ran into a friendly neighbor with a horse, then took a last minute hike up the hill next to us to catch the city lights. No real plan, no outfit changes, no expectation just fun.

If you’re still debating if you should just get some updated memories with your loved ones, do it! Don’t be overwhelmed by outfit planning, don’t be overwhelmed by location, don’t be overwhelmed by a busy schedule. You will so cherish the simplest of memories because its you and your loved one in them. Nothing else matters.
